MKEI hosted a webinar on Batrachochytrium dendrobatidis in Central America presented by Marina De León, M.S., Ph.D. candidate, Microbiology & Molecular Genetics at University of California, Davis.

Marina E. De León is a doctoral researcher in Jonathan A. Eisen’s lab at the University of California, Davis. Her primary research focuses on chytridiomycosis in amphibians and the phylogenomics and production of the bacterially produced pigment violacein. Marina has been awarded fellowships with the National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellow (NSF GRFP), Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute, Panama (STRI), and the National Institutes of Health (NIH) MBRS RISE.  Marina received a B.S. in Wildlife Conservation Biology from UC Davis and an M.S. in Biology from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona.
